Networking and Building Relationships for dk Engineering Professionals (1 PDH)

It’s doubtful that you’ll ever see a class in an engineering school related to building strong relationships. However, one could make a case that your network along with your communication skills together drive how successful you’ll be as an engineering leader. Building relationships is difficult for anyone to do, let alone engineering professionals who spend most of their time on very technical topics. We understand that, and that is why we have crafted this session to walk you through easy to implement actions that you can take on a daily basis to improve your networking skills and start to build relationships day in and day out.
In this session, you will learn how to:
- Determine with whom and where to network,
- Identify relationship opportunities,
- Create a networking plan,
- Overcome low confidence and language barriers, and
- Use social networking (i.e. LinkedIn) appropriately and effectively.
