Learning & Development Lab Director

Mission:

The mission of the Learning & Development (L&D) Lab Director is to coordinate the research of and distribution of information related to learning and growth trends in the AEC industry. This information which may be related to trends including AI, hiring trends, PM practices, etc. may be distributed through content channels (i.e. podcasts, articles, and videos) and client services (mastermind groups, learning sessions, forums, etc.).

Outcomes:

  1. Oversee EMI’s AEC PM Certification process which is the creation and management of a new industry wide certification. The certification is tied to our PM development programs administered by our Learning & Development team, but the L&D Lab Driector will oversee the certification process including the PM AssistTM service which is a service focused on reinforcing PM tactics to AEC project managers that have previously gone through EMI’s learning and development programs.

    The PM Assist service consists of quarterly live webinars on trending PM tactics, and the delivery of short micro-learning videos.
    • Source topics and speakers for quarterly live PM Assist webinars for EMI’s PM community. Topics may be similar to those listed in Item #1.
    • Facilitate each of the quarterly PM Assist webinars.
    • Deliver one PM Assist webinar per year as the featured speaker. This session may be focused on topics related to but not directly PM topics (i.e. AI in project management).
  2. Create a membership-based revenue stream with a minimum annual revenue of $150,000.
    • Create and run a mastermind group and/or forum with a recurring fee.
    • Create content for membership based on industry trends (AI, hiring trends, PM practices, etc.)
    • Host periodic interviews or fireside chats with industry professionals for membership
  3. Host one of EMI’s existing podcasts, or create and host a new one
    • Host one of AEC’s two existing podcasts, The AEC Engineering & Technology Podcast or The Engineering Project Management Podcast, or create and host a new one. EMI’s content team will handle all of the technical and production work.
    • Host at least two episodes per month.
    • Provide EMI’s content team with topics/guests for the podcast so they can reach out to the guests and coordinate the podcast.
  4. Oversee the publication of EMI’s annual Future of Work (FOW) Trends Report – a report that EMI publishes each year with a partnering organization and a third party who assists in the survey and report preparation.
    1. Manage the FOW production project from EMI’s side
    2. Attend bi-weekly meetings during the report preparation period (December through April)
    3. Review documentation from the third party vendor and provide feedback and direction
    4. Present the report findings through webinars, live speaking engagements and content channels (typically most of these presentations are virtual)
    5. Work closely with marketing on tracking report downloads and traction

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (engineering, architecture, land surveying or related field is a plus but not required).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the AEC industry (project management experience is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and speaking skills are a MUST.

Expected Salary

$80,000 – $105,000 per year* Salary range may vary based on applicants experience level and could be higher than expected.
