Project Manager
Mission:
The mission of the Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of all learning and development programs. They lead project teams, coordinate with instructors, and ensure projects meet quality standards and client expectations. Responsibilities include project planning, client communication, and overseeing project timelines.
Outcomes:
1. Serve as lead client contact for the Phase I – Due Diligence interview schedule and survey.
Process including:
- Schedule and coordinate the Kick-Off Meeting with the CLIENT.
- Prepare and distribute the Kick-Off Meeting agenda to the CLIENT and project team.
- Facilitate the distribution of the Training Needs Assessment (TNA) Survey Monkey link to the CLIENT.
- Collect and analyze feedback from the CLIENT on the TNA.
- Organize and conduct Milestone Meetings to present the key takeaways from the TNA.
- Review and finalize the Phase I Report for the CLIENT.
- Deliver the Phase I Report to the CLIENT.
- Assist in drafting proposals for next phase based on the findings of Phase I.
2. Manage Phase II – Design and Delivery of the programs.
Process including:
- Coordinate with team members to determine suitable dates and times for the Phase II Kick-Off Meeting with the CLIENT.
- Issue invitations for the Phase II Kick-Off Meeting to the CLIENT.
- Establish and maintain an invoicing Google Sheet and ensure seamless processing, informing both the Finance Team and Project Team accordingly, and updating Airtable accordingly.
- Distribute the Phase II Kick-Off Meeting Agenda to both the CLIENT and project team.
- Summarize and disseminate the outcomes of the Phase II Kick-Off Meeting to both the CLIENT and project team.
- Schedule and arrange ongoing design meetings with the CLIENT for Phase II.
- Lead in 1 to 3 client calls per week and must be available between 8am-5pm ET.
- Manage the design life cycle of the project, ensuring adherence to established timelines and milestones.
- Collaborate with CLIENT to create and finalize the project curriculum.
- Coordinate with the CLIENT to confirm and finalize the training schedule.
- Oversee the design process of the Project Management Development Program (PMDP), ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
- Coordinate with Instructors on design calls and program schedule.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure successful delivery of the programs and completion of post course requirements.
Typical Weekly Activities for this Position
Some of the tasks that you would perform in this position throughout a typical week might include:
- Meet with our L&D team members to ensure materials are prepared for our people leadership and project management programs,
- Review (QA/QC) materials for our L&D people leadership and project management programs and provide feedback based on your subject matter expertise (including instructor scripts/notes),
- Attend meetings with clients to ensure the design of the L&D programs accomplishes their goals,
- Manage/work on special projects which might include; industry surveys, white paper projects, our new AEC PM certification, facilitating mastermind groups, etc.,
- Attend conferences to help build the EMI brand.
- Thought leadership activities.
Key Skills/Responsibilities:
- Leadership/Communication Skills: Provide strong leadership to the learning and development team, guiding them in the design, development, and delivery of high-quality learning programs.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This includes defining project objectives, creating project plans, allocating resources, monitoring progress, and mitigating risks.
- Program Design: Lead the development of custom programs that address the needs of various departments and levels within the organization, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
- Content Development: Oversee the creation of engaging and impactful learning content, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and other resources.
- Client Collaboration: Collaborate closely with clients to understand learning needs, gather feedback, and ensure alignment of learning programs with business objectives.
- Performance Evaluation: Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of learning programs, and regularly evaluate program outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
- Team Development: Coach and develop members of the learning and development team, fostering EMI’s culture: Give, Guide, Grow with continuous learning and professional growth.
- Instructors Management: Identify and manage relationships with instructors, ensuring that they deliver high-quality services that meet the organization’s needs.
- Attention to Detail: You’ll be reviewing slide decks and guidebook designed by our team. You’ll need to have extremely strong attention to detail in order for this to work, as formatting errors, spelling mistakes and poor grammar are costly.
- Compliance: Ensure that all learning programs comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, and stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in learning and development.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, land surveying or related field.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in a consulting or training environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

- Work Location: Remote with 3 to 5 trips per year to Headquarters (Midland Park, NJ) plus travel to conferences if you are interested.
- Full -Time Hours: The position is full-time and requires 35 hours per week, but EMI is very flexible as to the time of day your work is conducted.
