Team Leader, Custom Learning & Development Programs

Mission:

The mission of the Team Leader of Custom Learning and Development Programs is to lead a team of project managers, designers, and delivery specialists to design, implement, and evaluate other learning and development programs, and create innovative customized programs that align with our and our client’s organizational goals and objectives.

Outcomes:

Manage the design life cycle of projects, ensuring adherence to established timelines and milestones including:

  • Assist in building project management plans and design schedule timelines with milestones providing time for clients to review and provide feedback, and for the design teams to update materials in time for the start of the programs
  • Resource Planning: plan development programs schedule and coordinate with instructors for their availability
  • Oversee the L&D team in the creation of engaging and impactful learning content ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations
  • Review training materials and provide feedback to the L&D team based on the clients and subject matter experts’ comments (including instructor scripts/notes)
  • Optimize participant learning experience through easy-to-navigate learning dashboard and access to learning materials
  • Track projects to ensure timely delivery of the programs
  • Ensure timely delivery of post course activities (certificates, badges, reports, etc.)
  • Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of learning programs, and regularly evaluate program outcomes to drive continuous improvement
  • Coach and develop members of the learning and development team, fostering EMI’s culture: Give, Guide, Grow, with continuous learning and professional growth

Serve as the lead client coordinator and oversee design teams in building custom and other learning & development programs. Tasks that this position may oversee as part of this process include:

  • Interviewing of program participants, (leadership and project managers) prior to the program design
  • Collaboration with clients to create and finalize the project curriculum
  • Coordination with clients to confirm and finalize the training schedule
  • Facilitation of design meetings and design schedule with the clients along with subject matter experts
  • Collaboration with clients to understand learning needs, gather feedback, and ensure alignment of learning programs with business objectives

Receive training to serve as an emergency alternate instructor for EMI’s custom leadership and project management development programs. Going through this process will give the Team Leader an intimate view and understanding of the content of EMI’s programs.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree (engineering, architecture, land surveying or other technical field a plus)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience
  • Ability to lead and inspire people.
  • Excellent communication skills and client service a must: previous experience speaking in public or presenting and customer service experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail is REQUIRED.

  • Work Location: Remote with 3 to 5 trips per year to Headquarters (Midland Park, NJ) plus travel to conferences if you are interested.
  • Full -Time Hours: The position is full-time and requires 40 hours per week, but EMI is very flexible as to the time of day your work is conducted.

Expected Salary

$80,000 to $115,000*

*Salary range may vary based on applicants experience level, and could be higher than indicated, especially with license/certification.
