Advance my Career

In this episode, I am going to share with you the best thing I ever did to advance my career in hopes that it will drive massive growth in your engineering career.  Usually when you look back on your career, you can see a few moves that made a huge impact on your success — I want to help you identify those and duplicate them.

Engineering Quotes:

Advance my Career

Advance my CareerHere are the key points:

  • Understand that 20 % of the actions you take in your engineering career, drive 80% of your success.
  • Writing a book has brought me so many different opportunities. Here are 5 of the opportunities writing and self-publishing my book Engineer Your Own Success has brought to me:
    • Relationships:
It continues to bring me opportunities to meet people that I wouldn’t have been able to meet had I not published Engineer Your Own Success.
    • Speaking Engagements:
I’ve spoken in over than 30 US states, traveled the country, saw different sites and brought in revenue through these events.
    • Resume:
I was able to put on my resume that I was an IEEE-Wiley author which can open many doors for you. (Note: IEEE-Wiley picked up my book and re-published it in a new edition.) When you add a book that you have written to your resume, it already tells people that you took action and did something — you wrote a book!
    • Expertise:
The book immediately gave me expertise in the field of engineering career development and Engineering Management Instituteing and helped me to advance my career, and grow my business.
    • Building a Brand:
This book helped me to build up my own brand as engineering career expert, but also Engineering Management Institute brand.
  • It’s is not always easy to do something big in your career, but if you do it, it’s going to be huge for you.

More in this episode…

In the Take Action Today segment of the show, I will help you to find the “big thing” in your career that will drive massive growth for you.
